A Heartwarming Weekend at Mossley CRT: Giving Back to Cyclists Fighting Cancer
This weekend, something truly lovely happened at Mossley. Since our inception in 1993, Mossley has been dedicated to accumulating various types of bikes for riders who wanted to ride but couldn’t afford to or just didn’t know what kind of bike to buy or use. As we’ve recently taken over the Limitless Disability Session, we wanted to start the year with a clean slate. This meant de-cluttering our container, we quickly realised we had a bunch of bikes that weren’t getting used.
To ensure these bikes found good homes, we first offered them to our members. Some were quickly taken, but a few remained. Then, our committee made a fantastic decision to donate the remaining bikes. The question was, to whom?
We have a wonderful relationship with Richard Salisbury and the Cyclists Fighting Cancer charity. When we offered the bikes to this incredible organization, they eagerly accepted. This weekend, they came to collect the bikes.
We are immensely proud to support Cyclists Fighting Cancer and want to share their story to give them as much recognition as we can.
Cyclists Fighting Cancer
Cyclists Fighting Cancer helps children and young people living with cancer across the UK regain their physical fitness, improve mental wellness, and reduce social isolation. They achieve this by providing new lightweight bikes, specially adapted trikes, cycling-related equipment, and support.
Since 2005, Cyclists Fighting Cancer has helped over 9,500 families. They are passionate about sharing the benefits of exercise and activity for people living with and beyond cancer.
We are thrilled to contribute to their mission and look forward to seeing the positive impact these bikes will have on the lives of those they help. Thank you, Cyclists Fighting Cancer, for allowing us to be a part of your incredible journey.
